Gate valves find extensive application in various types of scenarios and are suitable for installation both above and below ground. Particularly for underground installations, it is of utmost importance to select the appropriate type of valve to avert high replacement costs.
Gate valves are engineered for fully open or fully closed service. They are installed in pipelines as isolation valves and should not be employed as control or regulating valves. The operation of a gate valve is carried out by performing either a clockwise to close (CTC) or clockwise to open (CTO) rotating motion of the stem. When operating the valve stem, the gate ascends or descends on the threaded portion of the stem.
